Mr. Lok Raj Pathak is an energy-sector professional with over 24 years of experience in renewable energy, decentralized renewable energy systems, energy access, project management, and institutional development. He holds a Master’s degree in Energy Systems and Management from the University of Flensburg, Germany, under a DAAD scholarship programme, and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He has worked in various renewable energy programmes and projects supported by development partners including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), European Union, the World Bank, Danida, and Norwegian MFA, among others. His professional experience includes decentralized renewable energy systems such as solar PV, micro/mini-hydro, and large biogas plants, as well as project planning and management, technical and financial assessment, tariff-related guidelines, compliance and quality monitoring, and technical verification. He has also contributed to developing technical standards, guidelines, monitoring frameworks, and institutional mechanisms for decentralized renewable energy and energy access programmes and projects in Nepal.
